isyVmon Hardware Appliances

isyVmon appliances follow a well designed concept. Starting with single system for stand alone use it scales even for distributed monitoring by means of core & satellite systems - growth in infrastructure included. You can choose between hardware and virtual appliances. In any case Vmware READY, of course!

Recommendations for isyVmon hardware appliances

  Standalone Core + 1 Satellite Core + 2 Satellites
Number of service checks up to 4000* up to 7000* up to 11000*
Number of hosts up to 500* up to 800* up to 1200*
Branch offices Core + Small Office Satellite (SOS)
Number of service checks up to 50*
Number of hosts up to 30*
*The exact number of hosts and services depends on kind of service checks, the check frequency and the amount of performance data. These recommendations are based on a monitoring environment with a typical mix of more and less complex service checks, an average check frequency of 5 minutes and the assumption about two-thirds of the service checks will be report performance data.

For distributed monitoring it's recommended to install at least one isyVmon Satellite at each location. The advantage is, possible latency problems on the WAN connection will not have any impact on the check results and monitoring and alerting still continues working locally if the connection to the location is lost temporarily.

Advanced Notification (ANO)

isyVmon ANO is a recommended extension to any isyVmon enterprise solution and provides an interface for additional, less common and more infrastructure independent means of notifications. More...

SOS: Small, smart and everywhere!

The Small Office Satellite (SOS) is a small dedicated fan-less low-power monitoring hardware appliance. It incorporates all the features and functions that a full isyVmon Satellite has to offer. It can also be configured as a Restricted Satellite for more secure and restrict network environments just as its big brother. But its hardware limitations can only serve checking around 50 services or 30 hosts (Depending on the types and frequency of checks). Which has proven to be ideal for most small remote locations!
